**Compliance Risk and Assurance Specialist**

An exciting opportunity to join the Legal & Compliance function (Winner of the 2022 Legal Team of the Year - The Lawyer Awards) and help to deliver an award-winning compliance service.

The position is a specialist role within the Compliance Risk and Assurance Team, helping to provide two of the building blocks of Asda's Compliance programme - Monitoring and Risk Assessment.

Working with Compliance Subject Matter Experts across the function, ranging from Health and Safety through to Data Protection, you will help to manage the Compliance Functional and Enterprise Risk Assessment process, supporting the development of Key Risk Indicators and systemised functionality. You will support the function to deliver robust and risk-based Level 2 Assurance across Asda, by providing agile and targeted assurance activity using business partnering networks, risk and assurance expertise and a dare to try, self-starter attitude.

You'll report into the Senior Manager for the Compliance Risk and Assurance Team and help to:

- Co-ordinate risk assessment activity, supporting and advising Compliance Subject Matter Experts undertaking assessments, and working with Internal Audit for timely delivery of Enterprise Risk Assessment metrics.
- Improve efficiency and reliability of Risk Assessment through development of systemised tools and integration of substantive data points to the process, including the development of Enterprise Key Risk Indicators.
- Support the development of agile assurance activity across the function to include - Assurance Mapping, Control Gap analysis/testing, development of systemised and embedded controls and monitoring, Due Diligence, etc.
- Support the integration of Future, Acquisition, and other Strategic project risks into Compliance Functional and Enterprise Risk Assessment process, supporting the development of action plans for mitigating compliance risk.
- Provide communication and awareness of emerging risks and other compliance hot topics through effective knowledge sharing within the function.
- Utilise Future Systems and processes to transform ways of working within the team and across the function.

For this role you must be able to demonstrate:

- Sound knowledge and understanding of the organisational benefits of a robust Risk Management and Assurance framework.
- Experience in the execution of risk and assurance activity such as auditing.
- Ability to engage effectively and build successful working relationships with Key Stakeholders / Business Owners.
- Ability to work independently using your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Ability to plan assurance activity from scratch, as well as to follow existing methodology.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent data handling skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft functionality (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.)
