Role responsibilities:

- Provide general clerical and administrative support to the Patient Safety team as necessary, including dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Carry out photocopying, filing, copy typing, and other administrative duties
- Take clear and precise telephone messages and deal with any enquiries as appropriate
- On behalf of the Patient Safety team, arrange meetings, book meeting rooms, and liaise with other managers to ensure diaries are accurate and all relevant parties are aware of the agreed arrangements
- Manage diary commitments and support work programmes, preparation of papers and arrange appointments including any necessary travel arrangements.
- Develop a good understanding of the other functions within the Quality and Clinical Care department to provide mutual short notice cover/support for the other administrative assistants when necessary
- Treat everyone with whom you come into contact, with dignity and respect

- Take part in activities that lead to personal and/ or team growth
- Contribute to delivering the requirements of the Patient Safety function; including meeting the requirements of the RLI process in accordance with the Trust RLI and Moderate Harm Incident Policy
- Contribute to the delivery of the requirements of national guidance within the Trust's Patient Safety function
- Answer the telephone and be able to respond to external parties and staff in a sensitive and professional manner
- Provide a confidential service for all matters relating to the RLI process
Required skills and experience:

- 4 GCSEs (Grade C or above) or equivalent including English and Mathematics
- Full UK Driving licence
- Experience of working in a patient focused or customer service environment
- Working knowledge of the processes for managing RLIs
- Knowledge of Information Governance requirements
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Duty of Candour
- Good level of interpersonal skills to respond to all external bodies
- Good telephone manner and organisational skills
Contract: 37.5 hours per week
Location: mainly working from home with 1 day a week in the Exeter office
Pay: £9.50 per hour for the first 12 weeks, after 12 weeks rate of pay increases to £10.40 per hour
