A dream role at one of the National Trust’s Treasure House properties. We are expanding our team and seeking a second Collections & House Officer to join us. Working on a rota across 7 days within the house team conservation and presentation of Erddig’s eclectic collection is what this supervisory role is all about. You will undertake and supervise day to day care and cleaning of the property and its collections to ensure their preservation and presentation to our visitors. You will share your work with visitors, bringing to life the history of the house and its collection and sharing our approach to caring for it.

What it's like to work here:Our highly experienced Collections and House Team thrive in our busy, operational environment, working collaboratively to improve our collections care and access to our collection. As one of the National Trust’s Treasure Houses we are developing exciting plans for our collection interpretation, and we are looking for someone who can play a key part in delivering them. We are a supportive and friendly team, who work hard but always find time to have a cup of tea and catch up. Set on the outskirts of Wrexham, North Wales, Erddig is ideally situated.

Due to our location having your own transport to get here would be essential.

What you'll be doing:This is a fantastic opportunity to help develop and care for one of the nation's most unique houses. Working in close collaboration with the Property Team, you’ll be key in delivering all aspects of the visitor operation at the House, ensuring appropriate resources are in place to provide a safe and consistently exceptional service for our visitors. You’ll help to develop innovative ways of engaging our visitors with our fascinating history and celebrating our work to care for the collections.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Supervising and participating in preventive conservation and cleaning within the house: caring for one of the largest, most diverse and fragile collections in the National Trust
- Leading the team to manage the opening of the house on a daily basis
- Supervising a team of Collection Assistants and House Volunteers
- Bringing your heritage-sector experience to implement preventive conservation, delivery of our deep cleaning programme, and an excellent standard of interpretation and presentation.

- Arwain y tîm i reoli’r gwaith o agor y tŷ o ddydd i ddydd
- Goruchwylio tîm o Gynorthwywyr Casgliad a Gwirfoddolwyr Tŷ
- Defnyddio eich profiad yn y sector treftadaeth i roi cadwraeth ataliol ar waith, darparu ein rhaglen lanhau fanwl, a chynnal safon wych o ddehongli a chyflwyno.

Who we're looking forWe’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Experience of collections management and preventative conservation in a historic environment
- Knowledge of customer care and approaches in optimising visitor enjoyment
- Good team player skills with day-to-day line management and supervisory skills
