**About the Role**:
**Base Location**: Glasgow, Perth, Reading or Thatcham

**Salary**: £28,300 - £42,500 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

**Future Skills Lead**

In this newly created role you'll identify and implement learning solutions to develop the future skills required for emerging roles as well as upskilling the existing workforce across the SSE businesses. You will consult with business stakeholders to define the detailed skills requirements and will research options through internal collaboration and external networks, considering a variety of methods including formal learning, digital, external providers, partnering with other employers, utilising existing qualification standards, working with industry groups to develop new standards or working with educational institutions.
- You will analyse the learning requirements and investigate solutions using a range of methods and evaluate the benefits and costs of implementation, taking complex learning needs, and converting into learning solutions which connect skills to career development and business outcomes.
- Following evaluation of benefits and risks, in addition to research into industry best practice, you will make recommendations on concepts which may include a blended approach using a combination of digital, formal, internal, and external offerings or qualifications.
- When decisions are made on preferred solutions, you will coordinate the implementation of the learning solutions with external providers or internal teams.
- During and following delivery, you will evaluate the success of the learning solution from learner and stakeholder feedback, investigate options to improve and suggest adaptations to be made to enhance the offerings where required.

**What do I need?**:
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience in creating learning initiatives for large, diverse, and multi-skilled workforces with critical thinking and problem-solving expertise.
- Knowledge of the principles of learning, current and innovative learning practice, inclusive learning and evaluation of learning impact.
- Good IT skills with experience of digital learning platforms and ability to produce reports and present information.
- Excellent consulting, stakeholder management and communication skills with a focus on delivering pragmatic learning solutions in response to business challenges are essential.
- A background in technical training is preferred, and knowledge of the power industry is advantageous but not essential.
