Senior Peer Involvement and Co-production

Provide an initial contact point for issues related to Involvement across inpatient and community services across the Trust. Promote and encourage service user/carer involvement and influence service delivery from recent experiences and support networks where wide service user /carer consultation is required around planning of services. Respond to interest, arrange meetings and act as coordinator to other parts of the service. Participate in delivery of training for service users/carers and staff around Involvement and to increase awareness of their roles in specific projects as well as staff recruitment.
Responsible for participating in the setting of quality standards for the service working with ward managers and community managers to make service improvements where required. Participate in collating information and contributing to reports for the Trust specific to the Involvement agenda. Ensure up to date information is shared within the Experience and Involvement Team to keep databases up to date with accurate lists of people interested in Involvement. Facilitating recruitment drives and seeking new opportunities to identify involvement representatives.
Attend the local community and in-patient steering groups to oversee projects where participation from service users/carers and staff are required to co-produce work to bring about changes and improvements to services. Attend voluntary sector forums to inform about changes as a result of Involvement. Attend Team meetings, Local Health Economy meetings and any other meetings related to service user and carer involvement. Maintain regular links with staff champions in the different localities to ensure regular meetings occur and issues raised are concluded with action plans where required.
Monitor themes from the PALS service which may require service improvements and liaise with the Involvement Manager around supporting staff where required. Provide support to peer support workers within the team on request. Provide information to steering groups around projects in planning, implementation phase or where outcome has been achieved. Participate in the development of the service to ensure clinical governance processes are actively implemented at team level.
