**Collection & Recovery Technical Specialist**

**About the Role**:
The Revenues and Benefits Service has an exciting opportunity to recruit a new Technical Specialist within the Collection and Recovery Team.

This is an exciting time to join us as we develop an enhanced team committed to developing our colleagues and encouraging personal growth, in conjunction with a flexible working approach so everyone can thrive in an inclusive and open environment.

You must have a comprehensive understanding of legislation and proven advocacy experience to enable you to work collaboratively within an excellent team of specialists, responsible for the analysis of debt in order to prioritise work streams to maximise revenue for the Council.

You will be responsible for all complex matters arising from Sundry Debts, Adult Social Care, Council Tax Enforcement and Housing Benefit Overpayments which will include Court action with representation at the Tribunal/High Court and County Court.

In addition, you will be responsible for responding to customers, in relation to more complex enquiries, including Councillors, MPs and Ombudsman complaints within appropriate deadlines.

Focussed on continuous improvement and quality services you will work in a supportive environment, with a strong leadership team, giving stability, direction and energy to the service and making a difference.

We have embraced new ways of working and hybrid working between home and work will be a feature of this role. You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. Our technology platform and equipment allow you to connect and collaborate remotely which requires that you have in place good connectivity. This will be discussed during the recruitment process if support is required.
