The Recruitment Co are recruiting for experienced Purchasing Admin.
**Location**; Peterlee, 3 days based within the office, 2 days based at home.
**Pay** p**er hour** £10.40 - £12.50
**JOB PURPOSE**
The Purchasing Officer role is part of County Durham and Darlington Services,
providing procurement services to County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation
Trust, Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust and
Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. With responsibility for the provision of an
effective, efficient and professional purchasing service which involves the appropriate sourcing of goods and services, processing of requisitions, expediting purchase orders, all with due consideration of quality and price to deliver on-going cost efficiencies,quality and service benefits.
**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To undertake all system administration duties in relation to the electronic purchase order system which will include user setup, profiles, branch / delivery setup and template maintenance, etc.
- Resolution of all helpdesk calls from Cardea end-users and subsequent logging
and maintenance of electronic database.
- The ability to create and analyse bespoke reports either cross CDD Services or by stakeholder members, using bespoke business reporting tools.
- To provide in depth analysis on supplier product information (costs, individual
Trust pricing by supplier, trend analysis, etc.)
- Provide support and advice to CDD Services procurement team members on
electronic supplier catalogues, regarding price compliance, amendments,
additions, deletions.
- To become fully conversant with Trust SFI's, operational policies and procedures
to ensure all purchases comply with relevant guidance.
- Works within standard operating procedures / work instructions and relevant
policies and procedures. Proposes changes to working practices in own area.
- Responsible for achieving individual agreed targets and assisting in achieving
team savings targets and objectives as agreed in appraisal.
- Participating in stakeholder user groups to support the achievement of VfM for
CDD Services stakeholders.
- Supports the identification of process efficiencies to continually improve service
provision.
- Participates in audits and information requested (including FOI) relating to
purchasing activity within CDD Services.
- Works closely with all procurement, purchasing and materials management staff
within CDD Services.
- Liaises directly with suppliers to progress catalogue and information requirements
to achieve both quality and VfM outcomes for the Trust and/or stakeholder
Organisations.
**Qualifications / Experience required;**:
- Supply or working towards or equivalent experience.
- Working experience of purchasing and supply activity.
- Working Experience of an electronic purchasing system.
- Working experience of operating within organisational policies.
*Experience of working in a team environment or equivalent.
- Experience of working to both agreed individual and team targets.
- Experience of analysing basic information and spend data to support decision
making.

- Able to travel across Trust sites to meet the requirements of the post.
- A positive attitude.
