The Workforce Development, Education and Training Team (WDET) is a team within the Corporate Care Group. We support and deliver a wide range of education and training across the organisation. We work in partnership with aligned Universities and relevant Governing Bodies. We are committed to delivering best practice within EKHUFT to support the delivery of high quality and safe patient care. The Clinical Skills and Learning Facilitator role is integral to the Workforce Development, Education and Training Team agenda and the Trust objectives. The role of the Clinical Skills and Learning Facilitator will work closely with the Practice Development Nurse’s and WDET Matron’s to support learners in clinical practice and deliver training programmes.
- Provide high quality clinical support for learners in practice
- Support newly registered practitioners through the preceptorship programmes for; newly registered nurses and nursing associates, return to practice nurses, and internationally educated nurses.
- Monitor progress of student’s nurses and work-based learners on pre-registration training and apprenticeship programmes.
- Support the Healthcare Support workers undertaking the Ready to Care programme and National Care Certificate in practice and support career progression planning and opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with Higher Education Institutes, colleges and other education establishments to support work-based learning programmes that reflect the NMC standards.
- Deliver the clinical skills teaching in both the classroom, lecture theatre and clinical setting to meet programme objectives
- Support the facilitation of education programmes treating all learners with respect, considering equality, diversity, inclusion and individual learning requirements.
- Working clinically alongside all learners, newly registered nurses and return to practice nurses to assess competence, motivate and demonstrate clinical leadership, which is research and evidence based.
- Support clinical areas with the preparation required to support and develop the needs for all learners through promotion and role modelling including; Care Certificate Assessor role; Practice Assessor/Supervisor role; and Preceptor role.
