**Accountable to**: Practice Manager

Due to increase in demand Anfield Group Practice is looking to recruit one part time receptionist to work 26 hours per week over Monday to Friday shift pattern below, but may need to cover holidays and sickness as and when required, hourly rate will depend on experience. We have a patient list size of 9187. We are a GP training practice, which involves training Junior Doctors and PCN Pharmacy Team. Our team consists of 3 GP Partners, 2 x ANP, two full time Practice Nurses, four receptionists and five administrators. Gp practice experience preferred, although training will be given.

**Responsibilities can include but no limited to**:

- Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
- Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers’ request appropriately
- Signpost patients to the correct service
- Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Clinically code data on EMIS System (if trained to do so)
- Photocopy documentation as required
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Input data into patients’ healthcare records as necessary
- Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors’ letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Carry out system searches as requested
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
- To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

- Be punctual at all times
- Positive attitude and act professional at all times
- Be Flexible
- Proven work experience as a GP receptionist, in a similar role or within a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Professional phone etiquette and excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
