We have an exciting opportunity for a new and rewarding role within our busy Housing Options and Wellbeing team. The team are working hard to deliver successful housing solutions and this post has been created as part of a joint project with public health, to improve homelessness prevention. You will be able to contribute to developing the service and can work alongside other projects across housing, employment, and wellbeing services to help develop your own ideas and find the best solution for each individual, tailored to their needs.

You will help support people with their personal housing plan which identifies the steps both the individual and the council can take to help resolve their housing issue. You will carry out home visits and work with each individual and household to reduce the immediate risk of living arrangements breaking down. You will provide proactive support to ensure individual can access ongoing support and prevent them becoming at risk of homeless again in the future, this includes finding suitable alternative accommodation in the private rented sector. This role will support the Housing Needs Officers with discharging the Councils’ responsibilities to pro-actively prevent and relieve homelessness and support them with making their statutory enquires.

We will be recruiting the posts for an initial 2-year period but will be working with partners during this time to explore how this work can continue in the future.
