**Job Title: Product Development Materials Research Specialist**

**Location: Mid Kent**

Due to continued success and expansion, our client, a well-respected family business, are looking for a passionate Materials Research Specialist to help drive and deliver new ideas into their existing and new product ranges.

**Duties include**:

- Researching and testing both technical materials and fabrics, and sustainable materials and fabrics, including working with external testing houses.
- Working with the Product Development team to advise on material choices.
- Researching new suppliers, manufacturers, and processes.
- Presenting research and findings effectively to managers.
- Using Grante software to assist with comparing specifications and maintaining and developing the company’s fabric and material library.
- Managing materials-based projects, including new product and design launches.
- Working effectively and collaboratively across multiple projects and cross-functional teams simultaneously, both internally and externally.
- Some knowledge of materials and manufacturing across the furniture industry.
- Able to multi task effectively across multiple projects.
- Eager to learn and find new perspectives within materials and fabrics.
- Great verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong research presentation and Excel skills.
