**Purpose**

The IT Business Consultant contributes to the development of the IT Strategy and is responsible for its implementation. Working as a senior member of multiple project teams on Corporate projects, the IT Business Consultant will make strategic design decisions that satisfy both local and Global requirements, ensuring that the Business Analysts and Senior Business Analysts are familiar with the design solutions.

**Responsibilities**
- Development of key elements of the business IT Strategy. Ensuring that the all projects are consistent with Strategy and adhere to the Iberdrola Global model.
- Providing clear design direction to Business Analyst teams. Improving the knowledge of BAs through mentoring, workshops and other skill transfer methods.
- Early engagement on large projects and programmes; advising business on regulatory consultation; assisting business in early scope definition, feasibility analysis and business case development.
- Responsible for decomposition of large projects into discrete areas of analysis. Working closely with Applications Consultants, Project Managers, Solutions Architects, etc.
- Responsible for governance of the IT Strategy implementation through formal approval processes.
- To develop testing strategy for larger projects where long end-to-end business threads need to be tested spanning multiple underlying integrated systems.
- Knowledge and awareness of Iberdrola’s organisation, culture, people, strategy and operating models and implications for IT projects.
- Experience in design, delivery and evaluation of IT requirements and development of appropriate Global and Local solutions.
- Development of IT Disaster Recovery plans as defined in the IT Strategy.
- Responsible for the tools and design models - business processes, information systems, interfaces and technical infrastructure - that are used for requirements capture, impact assessment and high level design. Ensuring that these models are maintained and kept up to date.
- Practical experience in the use of SAP and a working knowledge of ABAP programming language.
- Validation of all financial cost assumptions in the Demand Management submission. Responsible at a project level for alignment of projects with core IT strategy via the Architecture and Technology group.
- Provides technical assessment and prioritisation on projects to the Demand Management submission.

**Skills and Requirements**
- Excellent utility deregulation experience and working knowledge of industry processes
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business and IT at senior management level
- Strong understanding and experience of technology and architecture
- Proven analytical skills and ability to analyse detailed change
- Administration skills in change management and documentation control.
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- In depth knowledge and experience of end to end design and development lifecycle.
- Ability to capture and translate complex business requirements into IT systems impact.
- Good people management skills.
- Experience of design modelling and document management tools

**Minimum Criteria**
- Knowledge of SAP CO /PM /FI /MM
