Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an organized and dedicated SEN Casework Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs Team. This role involves supporting the SEN Casework Officers in processing statutory assessments and managing Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans for children and young people.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the statutory assessment processes and annual reviews of EHC plans.
- Support the delivery of a dynamic outcomes-led assessment service.
- Handle administrative tasks, including processing requests, preparing and circulating letters, and tracking provision of advice.
- Serve as the first point of contact for queries from parents, settings, and agencies.
- Ensure that parents are fully involved in drawing up statements/EHC plans.
- Provide sensitive support to parents and service users.
- Prepare for legislative changes and assist in implementing new processes.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- High proficiency in word processing and keyboard skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience in working with individuals, groups, and organizations in education or the voluntary sector is preferred.
- Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and related legislation.
- Accredited training in ICT and experience with office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must provide CV, Photo ID, Proof of Eligibility to Work, Criminal Convictions Declaration, and Confidentiality Agreement.

**Working Conditions**:

- Based at Magdalen House, Bootle.
- 36 hours per week with occasional evening or weekend work as required.
