Qualified SEN Teacher

Are you a Qualified Teacher looking for a new challenge? A rewarding carer?

Wanting to make a real difference to the lives of children with Special Educational Needs?

An opportunity has opened for a Qualified Teacher in a SEN base within a mainstream primary school. The pupils are of primary age (5-11) with specialised needs including Autism, physical disabilities and other complex learning needs meaning that students are working at a much lower level than in mainstream education and class size reduced.

Your role will be to lead classes in basic curriculum topics (Maths, English, etc.) and also more specific communication and life skills. Lessons are designed to be fun and activity based, placing focus on supporting each individuals needs, building confidence and providing practical skills. The school also offers vocational courses which will equip students with skills to support them through life and employment. All students in the centre have an Educational Healthcare Plan which is the key focus for learning and drives their personalised curriculum. Your role as a teacher would be to find dynamic ways to keep students engaged and support their education, as well as adapting lessons to assure that learning is accessible to all.

This is a great opportunity for qualified teachers to enhance personal development by gaining experience in a specialist setting

To apply for this position you must be a Qualified Teacher and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN/SEMH. Ideally the Teacher will have experience of working within a special school; however this is not essential as long as you can demonstrate a commitment to supporting vulnerable students in a specialist environment.
