Head of Sales

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Sales to join an extremely reputable, family-run SME based in Leeds. Your role will be to deliver growth in existing and new customers, by identifying and developing leads, forging long-term relationships, and adding more products & services to existing & new accounts, for sustainable growth.
You will also create and execute the marketing plan aligned to the sales. This is a B2B sales opportunity with two distinct revenue streams (selling to wholesale / retail and also to contractors / specification market) working for a business that has been trading for over 40 years. This business is very stable, cash rich and is not risk averse but needs a genuine leader to drive growth.
Key duties and responsibilities....
- With the support of the SLT, construct, agree and implement an effective commercial strategy to grow revenues and margins in each business sector
- Take personal and functional responsibility for the delivery of agreed strategy and financial targets.
- Take full management responsibility for the sales and marketing teams, agreeing targets, managing performance and coaching/training to deliver exceptional performance.
- Regularly review strategy and action plans to ensure goal delivery.
- Create an energetic and positive working environment both within the commercial team and when working in collaboration with the wider company
- Set and manage cost budgets.
- Create and oversee a knowledge base of customers, prospects, products, markets and competitors.
- Create an NPD process which delivers the best value proposition to each market sector
**Requirements**:
- Proven track record of new business development,
- Previous experience in developing and implementing marketing and sales support activities.
- Proven track record of developing and leading a high performing sales team.
- An understanding of consultative sales
- Excellent business acumen with a real desire to succee
