**About the role**

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our team as a Surfacing Operations Co-ordinator, with opportunities for full training and development. This role is perfect for you if you are eager to grow and progress your knowledge and responsibility, and would like to work autonomously and using your own initiative. The purpose of this role is to work closely with Surfacing Managers in assisting with the co-ordination and delivery of surface treatment operations/projects across Cornwall and Devon. You’ll be helping with the management of the detailed work programme, and the timely delivery of all operational surface treatment works.

In this role, you will be supported in your learning and development to slowly increase your responsibilities. Some of these responsibilities are:

- To work with the Surfacing Managers in forecasting labour/resourcing requirements needed to undertake each scheme and meet agreed contribution targets
- To assist with the with the supervision of works on the site as and when needed
- To assist with carrying out site specific risk assessments, method statements, and to develop site safety plans in accordance with Construction Design and Management regulations
- To assist with setting out activities on site

You will be performing this role with a good level of autonomy, working from your own merit and using your initiative, with support and supervision during the learning process.

**About you**

What we’re mainly looking for you to bring is an eagerness to learn and develop; increasing your knowledge and responsibility as you settle into the role. We are primarily looking for you to have the following skills:

- Excellent organisational skills,
- Good I.T. skills, particularly with use of Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to deal with a range of stakeholders
- Drive to learn and develop
- The ability to co-ordinate a project

An understanding of the surfacing/tarmac industry is preferable, but what is most important to us is an interest in the area and demonstration of a desire to succeed in this role. Full training will be provided.
