Join Walsall Council's Young Persons Housing Team as an Employment Advisor and embark on an exciting opportunity to support and empower young people within our temporary accommodation and partnered housing schemes. You will equip them with valuable information, advice and guidance, propelling them towards positive outcomes. This is an exciting time to join the team and shape the way we develop employability skills, education and training for 16-24 year olds supporting positive transitions towards independent living.

We currently have an opening for a dedicated Employment Advisor, contributing to various programmes delivering outputs, incorporated within the dedicated Housing and Welfare team, providing robust advice and guidance creating positive sustainable outcomes. This includes supporting Walsall Works, addressing barriers faced by unemployed residents of all ages and those already employed looking to increase hours or transition to a different career. You will be responsible for providing essential skills, training, and guidance facilitating their progression into sustainable employment, education and training.

You will engage with vulnerable individuals, adapting provisions to meet their specific needs while adhering to required policies, procedures, and best practices.

Work plans will incorporate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and you will be accountable for workload management to achieve optimal performance. It is crucial to maintain an updated knowledge of relevant services, an active employer engagement strategy, and utilise tools that contribute to ongoing professional development.

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2025. An excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of local residents and contribute to the success of Walsall Council's Young Persons Housing Services employment and skills support provision.
