**Job Purpose**:
To provide a high quality mail screening and customer focused service through teamwork, communication and innovation. Provide secure mail collection and delivery to and from the client sites all across London and the UK. Mail Screening services as defined in the PAS 97.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Key Tasks**:

- To deliver the required Mail Screening Service to the customer in accordance with defined work instructions and the PAS 97 Levels 3, 4 and 5. To also meet the relevant Service Level Agreement(s) and contractual KPI’s.
- Rough and fine sortation of client’s mail prior to delivery.
- The use of, and driving of, company vehicles to securely collect and deliver client mail to and from sites across London and the UK. This applies to all staff in possession of a full UK driving license.
- All drivers to complete the vehicle key log to sign in and out any keys for vehicle usage and all relevant Car Pool Logs.
- Inspect and maintain all site vehicles on a daily basis. This includes internal and external vehicle cleanliness and checks to fuel levels.
- Responsible for the upkeep of vehicle inspection and documentation and to report equipment and vehicle defects to the Site Manager/Supervisor.
- To be responsible for maintaining excellent standards in the quality of own work within a controlled environment.
- To observe all incoming mail and parcels in compliance with SPS “Suspicious Packages” policy.
- Operate complex equipment, in a safe and efficient manner including automated equipment on occasion
- To respond efficiently to customer queries both in person and by phone and escalate as appropriate.
- To communicate effectively and maintain respect with other team members, management and customers.
- To work alongside other team members to deliver excellent customer service standards.
- To assist the Team Leaders/Supervisor in collating and presenting relevant data, internally and externally.
- To identify opportunities to enhance the service provided and to improve working practices.
- To comply with the SPS Quality System and SPS company policies at all times.
- To follow the health, safety, fire and security procedures associated with a hazardous work environment laid down and operated by SPS and the Client.
- Maintain completion of all SPS online training.
- To be flexible and cover other areas of the operation and to perform any other reasonable tasks, as necessary.
- To help maintain and clean an orderly site for operational use.
- In the event of mail incidents, escalations and quarantine, to comply with security protocols and remain onsite or within the contained area until advised by management.
- To comply with any other reasonable requests from Team Leaders, Supervisors and Management.

**General**:

- To report issues/concerns to the Supervisor/ Site Manager.
- To respond appropriately to customer complaints to ensure a satisfactory conclusion.
- To advise customers on the courier services available.
- To assist the Supervisor/Operations Manager, when requested, with the ordering and storage of consumables and to maintain records as appropriate.
- To work with the Supervisor/ Operations Manager to develop process improvement plans.
- To perform quality checks on own and others’ work, as required.
- To assist in the training of other team members.
- To explain processes and procedures to other team members
- To receive courier packages through the receipt bay area.

**Qualifications**
- Full driving licence.

**Skills/Competencies**
- Successful completion and retention of CT Clearance through Houses of Parliament.
- Lifting 15+ kg. on high frequency rate.
- Physically fit.
- Standing for long periods of time (possibly entire shift)
- Significant use of Personal Protective Equipment (i.e., bio-hazards suit, respirator, nitrile gloves, steel toe capped boots)
- Must be flexible with work hours and shift patterns to suit operational changes upon reasonable request.
- To successfully undergo a health and medical check every 3 years.
- To undergo all further security clearances (e.g. SC and NPPV Level 2). Current terms and conditions to contract will not be affected if unsuccessful in obtaining any of these further security clearances.

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of computer and data entry programs preferred with some processes.
