**Job Title: Campaigns and Communications Assistant**

**Working Hours: Full time, permanent - 35 hours per week**

**Location: Remote, with occasional travel expected**

**Salary: £17,500 - £20,500**

**Job Purpose**:
CAMRA Campaigns and Communications is run by a small and dedicated team, based across the UK, who are responsible for our national campaigns and communications, including a busy press office, our learning platform and internal communications to members.

You will have the opportunity to be part of a high-profile national organisation, playing an integral role in our campaigns and communications team.

These three new roles will support CAMRA’s campaigns and communications area. This will include content delivery across CAMRA’s digital and social platforms, support our media work and engagement with UK elected representatives. We are looking for a mix of skills across the three roles.

The roles will also support our Learn and Discover platform which supports learning in beer, cider, perry and pubs through high-quality learner-focused content.

This will all be underpinned by an innovative and creative approach to deliver our strategic campaigning objectives. Therefore, the role is ideal for someone who is looking for a good foundation in campaigns, content development, communications and PR with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

With an eye for detail and a passion for digital and online media, you’ll be able to identify opportunities to engage with specific audiences, create imaginative digital content, and bring stories to life via a range of platforms.

You will assist in bringing identified opportunities to life through writing engaging copy and producing assets for a range of communications channels.

CAMRA offers a hybrid working approach with attendance at some events, festivals, award presentations and meetings required periodically. These may take place anywhere across the UK, but the office headquarters is based in St Albans, England, with a move to a new office based in Luton in 2024.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Campaigns & Communications**
- Support the delivery of campaigns with good written communication and design skills
- Support the Campaigns Team with secretariat service for the All-Party Parliamentary Pub Group.
- Support delivery of campaigning activity across a variety of CAMRA communication platforms.
- Support the team with content on the CAMRA website and social media. Including campaigning resources, packs and toolkits for volunteers and pub campaigners.
- Assist with stakeholder management.
- Assist with drafting and proof-reading press enquiries and assisting with media/interview schedules for CAMRA spokespeople.
- Oversee the media monitoring and compile press coverage summaries.
- Provide general administrative support as required, including to CAMRA’s national committees.
- Respond to requests for information or support from volunteer press officers and campaigners.

**Digital & Social Platforms**
- Create content for social media to engage and influence a wide range of audiences
- Produce a suite of digital assets for a range of audiences in line with accessibility guidelines
- Work with the Learning and Discovery Manager to maintain and develop content for our Learn and Discover platform and YouTube Channel.
- Support the delivery of the new Learn & Discover platform currently in development for relaunch in 2024.
- Support delivery of content by proofreading copy, imagery attribution and uploading copy and digital assets via CMS.
- Support the Learning & Discovery Manager in delivering CAMRA’s wider Learning & Discovery programme by engaging with relevant colleagues across the campaign, internal stakeholders, attending meetings and delivering presentations
- Help manage CAMRA’s national website and _What’s Brewing_ platform by providing quality control.
- Support the administration and editing requirements for the CAMRA podcast _Pubs. Pints. People._
- Support and promote the correct use of the corporate branding and style guides.

**Person Specification**:
**Preferred Criteria**:

- A degree or volunteer/work experience in communications, media, content development, instructional design, PR & journalism or similar
- Experience of recording and editing video and audio using software.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines including producing reactive communications in the event of an emerging issue.
- An interest in politics and/or current affairs and the ability to spot opportunities to help position CAMRA nationally.
- Experience of working with volunteers.
- Knowledge and interest of the pub and beer sector.
- Ability to travel to and provide occasional support to the team at CAMRA festivals

**Salary**: £17,500.00-£20,500.00 per year
