**The Role**

As Head of Year, you will be responsible for ensuring outstanding pastoral support for all students in your assigned year group, and fostering a culture that enables all students to maximise their achievements across the spectrum of school life. You will be instrumental in our mission to provide every student, regardless of their background, a great education and real choices in life.

**Our school**:
Ark Charter is a medium sized secondary school in the heart of Portsmouth. We have just appointed an ambitious Principal and are about to embark on a rapid journey of improvement. We are a school with significant potential, located in the heart of Southsea, just a mile from the seafront and close to Gunwharf Quay.

We are part of the Ark network, a highly successful MAT with a well-regarded CPD offer for leaders and teachers at all levels. We are passionate about developing and delivering tremendous outcomes for students and invest significantly in our staff.

**The opportunity**:
We are seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking Head of Year to help realise our ambitious vision and make Charter a world class school. You will have significant skills, drive and a proven track record of having had impact in a Secondary setting. You will understand the importance of working hard. In return you will work in partnership with our newly appointed Principal, Christian Down, a highly successful local Principal.
