London, United Kingdom Alzheimer's Society Full time

**About The Role**:
If you are looking for an opportunity to put your project support skills and experience of digital marketing into practice or develop them further and to make a difference for people affected by dementia, this could be the role for you.

The Dementia Friends team are looking for a Project Support Volunteer to support with our upcoming projects. This will enable us to deliver projects related to our Dementia Friends website and social channels to improve the lives of those affected by dementia by reaching more people to encourage them to become Dementia Friends and learn more about dementia and take actions big and small.

**What you will be doing**:

- Supporting with community management across Dementia Friends social media channels.
- Proof-reading and editing content, ensuring it meets editorial and brand guidelines, usability, and accessibility standards.

This is a volunteer advert to support the Digital and Marketing team on the Dementia Friends programme with key projects this year.

Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the UK’s biggest-ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. For 10 years, it has been transforming the way the nation thinks, acts, and talks about the condition through volunteer-led Dementia Friends Sessions and tailored resources for organisations.

The programme supports individuals and organisations to understand more about dementia and inspires them to take meaningful action to bring help and hope to everyone affected by dementia. The programme is about to embark on a development phase, so this is a great time to join the team and bring your expertise and experience.

The volunteer will support on delivering the digital marketing and social media activity for our Dementia Friends programme. The role will help with developing and delivering excellent communications using a variety of communication channels.

This role will be home-based, and we would like someone to commit to 6 hours per week, but the hours can be flexible to suit the volunteer. To put the role into practice most effectively, and to ensure a consistent service for people living with dementia this role is recommended to continue for at least 6 months.

What you can expect from us:

- We will make you feel welcome, included and respected.
- You will receive training, ongoing supervision and support.
- You can claim pre-agreed out of pocket expenses (e.g. travel) in line with our policy.
- You’ll have access to learning, development and engagement opportunities for volunteers.

What we need from you:
To ensure the safety and security of people with dementia we ask for:

- One reference and proof of identity.
- You will need your own computer and internet access.
- Adhere to all the Society’s service standards, policies and procedures

**You’ll be great for the role if**:

- You have an understanding of digital marketing
- You have experience of writing content for different audiences and platforms
- You are keen to be involved in an innovative and exciting opportunity
- You are organised and have good communication skills, and attention to detail
- Are able to volunteer effectively independently
- You are over the age of 16.

This role will be home-based, and we would like someone to commit to 6 hours per week, but the hours can be flexible to suit the volunteer. To put the role into practice most effectively, and to ensure a consistent service for people living with dementia this role is recommended to continue for at least 6 months.
