Care Home- Activities Coordinator

**Hafod House** is looking for an Activities Coordinator with a proven ability to develop and organise a range of events / activities for clients.

**Activities Coordinator Specification**:
As the Activities Coordinator, you are responsible for planning and implementing activities appropriate to Clients’ needs and requests. You will also assist the Home Manager in organising fundraising events.
Your role is to organise and document social activities for people who need care and support. You will need to assist them to take part within the care home. Your role will include:
- spending time with the residents to develop meaningful relationships and talk to their families about the types of activities they’d like to do.
- Offering opportunities that reflect residents’ past interests to increase their wellbeing and create new experiences
- organising activities that are tailored to the needs and abilities of individuals, as well as group activities that will bring individuals together
- booking external suppliers to provide entertainment
- organising trips out in the local community, considering accessibility
- assisting and encouraging people to take part in activities
- add and maintain links with community groups, scouts, churches and coffee mornings.
**Work Experience**:
- Proven ability to develop and organise a range of events / activities for Clients
- Experience of working in a care home is preferred but not essential
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Friendly, creative and confident
- Genuine interest in working with the relevant Client group
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS
- Previous experience of working with the relevant Client group (desired)
- Qualification in remedial / occupational therapies (desired)
- Flexible approach towards working routines (desired)
- Previous experience in Activities is essential
**Job Type**: Permanent
**Salary**: £10.42 per hour
