An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Clinical Support Worker/Patient Flow Coordinator in the Emergency Department.

The purpose of the Patient Flow Coordinator is to ensure that patients have a seamless journey through the Emergency Department to either discharge or admission.

Work Closely with the Shift Leader, escalating delays and concerns to the CSM, Manager on call or Matron. You will liaise with wards and departments to ensure smooth transfer of patients across the site.

You will answer telephone calls and deal with enquiries, allowing the Nursing Staff and Doctors to concentrate on caring for our patients.

Clinical Support workers will possess a high level of clinical skills as listed in the Job Description.

You will required to work a 24/7 rota.

The post holder is expected to adhere to Trust policies and procedures and relevant legislation including the requirements of any professional bodies and to attend mandatory training as identified by the Trust.

Applications are welcome from those without clinical skills but must possess Emergency Department experience with excellent knowledge of Emergency Department's day to day running and the need to ensure patient flow is maintained.
