We’re looking for someone highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic to help us deliver our day-to-day nature conservation and countryside management work at one of the country’s most important National Nature Reserves on the stunning North Norfolk Coast.

You'll need to be willing to learn, adaptable and able to regularly work on Sundays.

The Norfolk Coast and Broads team manage a vast area of habitat which supports some of the most important and iconic wildlife in the country. Blakeney National Nature Reserve (NNR) is particularly famous for its coastal wildlife - including little terns, grey seals and pink-footed geese. Reporting to an Area Ranger, you’ll be joining a team of Rangers who look after this stunning stretch of the North Norfolk Coast.

What you'll be doing:Joining the Ranger team at Blakeney, led by an Area Ranger, you'll be working alongside another Ranger and two very enthusiastic Apprentices. No two days will be the same and the challenges will come thick and fast but everything you do will be set against a backdrop of stunning scenery and amazing wildlife.

You’ll play a key part in helping to manage the habitat and access across Blakeney National Nature Reserve. You’ll also play a key role in managing other small sites, including Friary Hills, Morston Quay and Young’s Land, to help deliver great biodiversity and access for our visitors.

You’ll work closely with the Blakeney Point team, helping them to manage the internationally important tern colony in the summer and England’s largest grey seal colony in the winter. You’ll also help colleagues at Morston to host events that will bring our amazing coastline to life.

You’ll need to;
We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Good people skills, so you can build strong relationships within your team and with local neighbours and stakeholders
- Competency in using and maintaining machinery and equipment - particularly brush cutters, mowers and tractors - and have the relevant qualifications to demonstrate this competency
- Practical experience in relevant land, conservation and access management
- An understanding of the importance of health and safety legislation and the need for compliance in a countryside setting
- Experience of delivering inspirational events that help build and strengthen visitors’ connection with nature and the outdoors
- A good understanding of how to organise, motivate and reward volunteers
