Main Duties and Responsibilities.

1. To provide support to residents during their period of homelessness.

2. To ensure that all residents are treated fairly and afforded equality of opportunity.

3. Assisting in the assessment of local authority referrals to the service.

4. Welcoming new residents to the service.

6. Providing information, advice and guidance that enable residents to make informed decisions about their needs and support.

7. Ensuring that residents have a means of expressing their views and that this expression receives appropriate consideration.

8. Actively involving residents in their support, and the delivery and development of the services they receive.

9. Making referrals to and liaising with relevant agencies and individuals with or on behalf of residents.

10. Coordinating and carrying out the monitoring of residents progress.

11.Representing and advocating with/for residents.

12. Maintaining accurate and up to date records of every aspect of residents issues and support packages.

Responsibilities will also include:

- 1. Support residents to maintain contact and/or engage with specialist agencies such as substance misuse services, mental health services, police, probation and benefits agencies.

2. Support residents to become tenancy ready to move onto suitable accommodation.

3.Oversee the safety and security of the building, residents, and visitors to the property.

4. Report any necessary incidents to the Manager as appropriate.

5. Foster positive working relationships with the local authorities that refer residents to the service.

6. Follow the resident check in and check out procedures using the computer systems provided.

7. Ensure rooms and communal areas are managed and cleaned ready for new residents to arrive.

8. Manage the ordering of required stock for the property.

9. Maintain a daily journal, recording the activities of guests and visitors.

10. Report repairs and maintenance using the computer systems provided

11. Ensure the residents comply with the house rules

Ideally, you will have the following:

- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar post supporting vulnerable individuals in either an outreach or a hostel setting (desired).

You will have excellent communication skills and a calm and confident manner (essential).

You will have an understanding of the impact of factors such as single homelessness, drug and alcohol harm reduction, mental health and complex needs on individuals in addition to a good understanding of current Health & Safety issues and the issues that might arise in a residential environment (desirable)
