We’re looking for multiple Head of Delivery roles to work on exciting Digital programmes across different teams in DLUCH Funding Service Design, and Local Digital.
- Funding Service Design team aims to transform funding by delivering common patterns and digital tools for the wide range of funds within the department. Funding service design - DLUHC Digital (blog.gov.uk)
- The Local Digital team supports councils across England to deliver the local public services of the future

Our Heads of Delivery work closely with their programme’s Head of Product and/or Service Owner to support and lead the team. You’ll act as a servant leader, removing blockers and assuring the deliver for a wide range of teams. You’ll support Delivery Managers and Product Managers in strategic planning and end-to-end agile delivery, ensuing there’s the vision and roadmap. You’ll work on major products and services through all phases of an ongoing development lifecycle.

**Job description**:
As a head of delivery you’ll:

- manage and develop a talented team of delivery managers and other roles, both Civil Servant and from third party suppliers, remove blockers and help all teams within the programme become high-performing
- own several key capability contracts, ensure the suppliers are delivering and paid on time, and that DLUHC users know how to access those contracts
- be accountable for financial planning and tracking for your programme and lead on recruitment, and key procurement activities
- collaborate and engage with a range of stakeholders, supporting and challenging your teams around delivery timelines and adherence to the Service Standard
- be responsible for anticipating, balancing and managing change that comes from government priorities, policy, user research findings, data and learnings from the development process.

**Person specification**:
As a head of delivery you’ll have;
- a high level of delivery management skills and experience, as well as the ability to lead teams of teams in a complex matrix environment
- strong interpersonal skills, be used to managing senior stakeholders and accustomed to both adjusting programmes to, and initiating, change.
- a strong ability to deliver successfully in complex, large, uncertain, and highly visible problem spaces
- the skills to deliver through others, identify talent and potential, and successfully develop, coach and mentor individuals and teams
- experience with setting, monitoring, managing and reporting costs, budgets, plans, forecasts, progress, risks, benefits and programme KPIs
- the ability to drive delivery momentum and to solve issues and unblock problems - setting sustainable pace whilst ensuring teams are working towards delivery commitments
- experience of commercial, supplier and dependency management. Ensuring commercial contracts and suppliers are held to account for their timeliness, value and quality
