**About Us**

**The role**

Based full time at our office in Lakenheath, and reporting to the Transport Manager The Transport Planner is responsible for the coordination of all transport related activities to support the operation of the business. The Transport Planner will also be the first point of contact for Drivers to resolve any matters that may arise and provide regular communication to customers where necessary.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Coordinate the daily schedules for Drivers to ensure all jobs are covered effectively and within agreed timeframes.
- Liaise with Drivers to assist with any problems or changes to the daily schedules that may arise.
- Plan the daily trailer schedules and daily trailer checks.
- Manage the servicing and repairs for all vehicles and trailers.
- Liaise with customers and keep them regularly updated regarding their loads.
- Manage Driver timesheets and liaise with the Payroll department when required
- Cover the Weighbridge operation, when necessary, including paperwork, telephone queries and deliveries
- Manage Drivers defect sheets and fuel receipts accordingly
- On call out of hour support when required relating to any driver absences, vehicle breakdowns, trailer issues and communication with customers regarding cancelled loads.
- Deal promptly and effectively with problems within your control and report those that cannot be solved, or outside your permitted authority.

**Skills & Attributes**
- Demonstrate an organised and analytical approach to all tasks given / undertaken
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- A problem solver with ability to assume responsibility and act on initiative

**- Ability to work under pressure**

**- Transport Manager CPC qualification desirable**
