Finance Assistant

From the steel in our first reinforced bridge in 1903, to railway sensors, we work with government authorities, asset owners, construction companies, and design offices to support their infrastructure projects.
Our systems are found in iconic projects such as The Golden Gate Bridge, Panama Canal, Kap Shui Mun Bridge, and Freedom Tower.
We are looking to hire a Finance Assistant in our Bury office. There is some flexibility to work from home a day or two a week. This role is offered for full time or part time.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide weekly cashflow reporting to Head office.
- Assist the Finance Manager to deliver the monthly payroll within strict deadlines.
- Point of contact for all payroll enquiries, investigation and reporting.
- Support the Finance Manager with Pension administration and monthly Payroll reconciliations.
- Assist with the monthly Holiday pay calculations.
- Prepare Expenses Recharges for the UK Business units.
- Assist with the collation of data and review of cost centres as part of the month end process.
- Prepare and reconcile multiple Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and allocate monthly Intracompany recharges and the preparation of Intra Group reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly Credit Card Accrual and reconciliations.
- Reconcile HSBC transactions and post into ledgers.
- Reconcile Barclaycard transactions and post into ledgers.
- Prepare and reconcile quarterly VAT reconciliations preparing VAT returns.
- Any other associated administration duties to support the finance function.
- Provide Accounts Payable cover; processing Invoice processing and reconciling Supplier Statements.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous exposure to both finance and payroll
- Previous experience of working in a busy office environment
- Working towards or a desire to work towards your finance qualification.
- Good IT skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel to a moderate/high level.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience of working accurately to tight timescales
- Good communications skills internally and externally
- Experience in the construction industry would be desirable but not essential.
- Part Qualified/Qualified to AAT or equivalent experience is desirable.
- Experience of using SAGE/Navision would be highly beneficial.
- Experience in the construction industry would be desirable but not essential.
- Contract/Project accounting is also desirable.
