**Communications Officer**

**Salary**: £26k-£30k

**Contract**: Permanent

**Hours**: Full-time

**Location**:Home-based with an average of 4 office days per month (Bath/Bristol area). IDPE operates a work-from-home policy and therefore does not have a permanent office. The team meet regularly across the Bath/Bristol area.

IDPE is a membership organisation, supporting fundraising and engagement professionals in schools. We pride ourselves on having a thriving and engaged community and, as membership administrator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our community.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Communications**
- Create annual and project specific communication plans, turning marketing ideas and copy into engaging communications and digital assets
- Design electronic communications
- Support the Head of Content in the writing of communications
- Track analytics for communications and social media, writing regular reports
- Proof read and copy-edit a wide range of communications ensuring the brand and voice are consistent and correct

**Digital**
- Strengthen our online presence, managing social media channels and content to initiate two-way conversations and increase awareness of our work
- Manage the website, coordinating the collection of copy from various staff members and ensuring that key messages are communicated online. Ensure that all content is uploaded consistently and within IDPE brand guidelines
- Ensure SEO is up to date and optimised
- Track website analytics and report where necessary on any trends
- Manage the uploading and categorisation of resources in the members’ resource library and in the professional development app
- Oversee ongoing developments to the website in line with organisational needs
- Oversee the set up and administration of the conference app

**Content creation**
- Graphic design of flyers, brochures and other printed material
- Design graphics to be used on the website, on social media and in marketing materials
- Edit video content for professional development and marketing purposes
- Edit audio content for the creation of podcasts
- Liaise with external designers to create print and other advertising for events and exhibitions

**Event communications**
- Liaise with event sponsors and corporate partners to deliver marketing and advertising inventory
- Oversee event communications and the design of print of all event materials

**Supporting ad hoc projects within the wider business**
- These tasks are not intended to be exhaustive, but they highlight the major tasks that the post-holder may be reasonably expected to undertake._

**Are you IDPE’s next Communications Officer?**

**Essential skills/experience**
- At least 2 years’ experience within a communications role
- At least 2 years’ experience of producing web content and managing an organisation’s social media presence
- Experience of graphic design, designing electronic and printed material
- A good communicator with the ability to adapt communication style to the audience i.e. knowing how to communicate with both technical and non-technical staff
- A flair for creative writing on a variety of topics with excellent content/copy writing skills
- Technically proficient with the ability to quickly understand new software or web-based services
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience of design software and of designing communications/marketing material (you will be asked to provide examples of documents or websites you have designed)
- Working within a small team will require a flexible approach to duties and a willingness to support others with a variety of tasks

**Please note: all IDPE staff are expected to attend the IDPE Annual Conference. This will involve a three day/two night stay each May/June. The next conference will be on 12-14 May 2024 in Nottingham.**
