Bristol, United Kingdom Mindfully Wired Communications Full time

About Mindfully Wired Communications (MWC)

Mindfully Wired Communications (MWC) is a vibrant and unique consultancy working on marine
environmental issues and campaigns through bold, values-led communication. We work broadly
across issues of marine governance and protection, seafood marketing and the blue economy, and
coastal communities. As a small-but-mighty team of scientists, linguists, event pros, policy
buffs, and creatives, we use our broad experience and personal values to tell a new story of
sustainability.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, well-organised, and creative Science & Policy Officer to join
our busy team and support the delivery of high-quality communications for a number of new and
existing projects. The successful applicant will have excellent written communication and
social media skills, and will be genuinely enthusiastic about working with diverse stakeholders
to bring about positive change.

Our Science & Policy team works to bridge the gap between researchers, fishers, NGOs and
policy makers. We work with a range of clients, from international research groups driving for
sustainable fisheries management, to advocacy campaigns, an All-Party Parliamentary Group,
and government-led initiatives to tackle bycatch.

You will be working collaboratively with the Science & Policy Co-Managers to support the
delivery of a range of projects, including managing external communications channels for a

wind and biodiversity. Other duties will include (but are not limited to) supporting delivery
of upcoming projects; drafting and supporting the graphic design of conference reports;
researching, copywriting, and copyediting a range of materials; and designing and executing
communications strategies for core projects.

The role will suit someone who has excellent attention to detail, knowledge of using social
media for impact and outreach, and a flair for writing. We’re looking for someone who can think
creatively, adapt their written style and tone to suit diverse audiences and formats, and work
collaboratively, both with clients and within the MWC team. An interest in sustainability and
an appreciation for the marine environment are essential. You should be curious to explore new
topics and ideas, able to create meaningful connections within and between projects, and
produce content that has impact on a relatable, human level.
