We are currently Recruiting for a Residential Support Worker; this is to work in a home with two children and young people needing behavioural and emotional support.

Working as a Children's Home Residential Support Worker, you must be willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people, ensuring that they have an experience of childhood that they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood. **Duties**:

- To support the children and young people in all day-to-day activities and interests
- To promote the young person's independence and wellbeing
- To attend weekends away, holidays and trips away with the Children
- To attend weekend and evening activities to support the children and young people in their interests. This can range from climbing and baking cakes to weekend activities away
- To protect the children and young people from any risks to their health and welfare
- To provide emotional and practical support to the young people within our home.
- To ensure the safety of young people by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
- To support, overcome and learn to minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging.

Beech Tree House

**Salary**:
£10.50 - £12p/h depending on qualifications and experience, £60 per sleep-in allowance.

Hours:
165 hours per month (10 sleep-in shifts) rolling rota depending on the needs of the business.

**Purpose**
- To provide high quality care to children and young people as part of Bright Futures North West Limited service.
- To contribute actively to the creation and maintenance of a homely environment, considering the child/young person’s wishes and preferences.
- To understand, contribute to and deliver the young person’s Care Plan on a daily basis and ensure that all the basic physical needs of the young person are met.
- To make decisions that are in the best interests of the children, young people and the organisation at all times.
- To be alert to signs of distress, neglect or abuse, ensuring that the young people are monitored and protected.
- To know, understand and role model Bright Futures cultural and behavioural expectations.

**Key Activities**
- To act in a manner that is always befitting of Bright Futures as a provider of children’s services and in line with the organisation’s values and ethos.
- To utilise the organisations whistle blowing policy to ensure that poor practice, negligence and dishonesty is dealt with appropriately.
- Keep up to date accurate records for the children and young people in line with systems of the home.
- Carry out tasks and maintain all relevant records pertaining to fire safety, health & safety and other records as directed by the line manager.
- To undertake all training directed in line with the company’s policies and procedures.
- To set high standards of homemaking and care for the fabric, equipment and grounds of the home and wider organisation. Ensuring all domestic duties in the home are carried out to the highest possible standard.
