You will be based in an Ofsted regulated 2 bed children's residential home in Clubmoor, Liverpool. The home is a new home and specialises in providing the best possible care for Children and Young People aged between 11-17 years old, with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. The service is committed to making a difference to the lives of young people with the aim of creating a positive future. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an existing and exciting organisation who are consistently rated as a 'Good' provider by OFSTED.

**What we’re looking for;**

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be required to provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment and establish positive relationships with the children and young people. Key responsibilities include:

- Assessing the needs of the children followed by coordinating plans to ensure all needs are met
- The ability to keep records in line with both statutory and company requirements
- Encouraging, motivating and caring for young people, as well as maintaining boundaries and identifying any concerns young people face in today's society
- Undertaking a range of domestic duties
- An understanding of Ofsted requirements (desirable)
- An understanding of Therapeutic care (desirable)
- NVQ level 3 in Children’s and Young People’s workforce (Desirable but not essential)
- Flexibility (essential)
- Available to work weekends (essential)
- Available to do sleep ins (essential)
- A solid understanding of policies and procedures (essential)
- Experience of working with young people that have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties (desirable)

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- To actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in our care.
- To access and manage risk in line with PALS policy and procedure and the Children’s Home Regulations including the quality standards.
- To build positive, professional relationships with the children and young people in our care
- Provide both practical and emotional support in a child centred environment.
- Promote structure, boundaries and routines within a safe and nurturing environment.
- To assess, implement, review and evaluate the care plans of young people.
- Undertake the roles and responsibilities of a keyworker.
- Promote children and young people’s social, emotional and independent development.
- Support children and young people to engage in constructive use of their leisure time in line with care and placement plans.
- Facilitate meetings which allow young people to share their views regarding the environment of the home.
