Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner - Amputee Rehabilitation (28.5 hours per week)
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our amputee rehabilitation team working alongside experienced an experienced MDT (including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses, Prosthetists, and Administration Staff) in the Nottingham Mobility Centre, based on the City Campus.
As an OT Assistant Practitioner, you will be expected to use your initiative with regards to patient rehabilitation, group work, and managing delegated tasks for registered Occupational Therapists (OT's).
You will also be able to support the in patient service with discharges, particularly home visits, some of which may be carried out independently.
You will complete initial assessments, rehabilitation and equipment provision, as well as independently set rehabilitation goals for patients seen.
This post requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
You will work with a degree of autonomy, and as part of a team manage a designated workload, maintaining appropriate records, within a scope of practice and accept accountability and responsibility for own actions.
You will evaluate patient progress and use your own judgement to make amendments to the treatment programme within your scope of practice.
You will undertake administrative and some house-keeping duties to support the Occupational Therapy service.
There will be opportunities for you to engage in service developments and training and you will assist with the supporting and skill development of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff including assistants, apprentices and students.
Please note that this is a cross-site post covering both City and QMC campuses.
