**More about your role**

As our Strategic Land and Planning Manager, you will be an integral part of our Development Team, supporting our Group Strategic Land Director in the delivery of the Groups growth plans. The Strategic land team operates independently across the Groups regions but will work closely with them to deliver opportunities that further their growth ambitions. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new business that will play an important part in the growth plans of Places for People.

You will need to pro-actively source, manage and deliver suitable land opportunities for potential developments, effectively evaluating and negotiating to ensure feasibility and profitability as well as securing a pipeline of strategic land opportunities.

You will need to:

- Identify, appraise, acquire, promote, and deliver strategic long term residential development projects focused on delivering a range of housing tenures in-line with the Group's financial criteria and strategic requirements.
- Have a good understanding of government planning policy, the Local Plan process and housing land supply issues
- Negotiate with landowners and settle financial terms. Lead on legal negotiations to acquire a suitable interest in sites through option agreements and joint ventures
- Appoint and manage a consultant team to achieve targets and forecasts
- Manage the relationships with internal departments and report where necessary

We are looking for someone with a collaborative nature, someone who enjoys working with a team using the skills and expertise of colleagues to deliver projects. You will also need strong IT skills and be an assured presenter to senior stakeholders, able to quickly appraise Directors of the progress of sites.
