**Job Title**: Temporary Revenues Officer (Remote)

Are you a proficient user of NORTHGATE and CIVICA systems with a sound understanding of Business Rates and relevant legislation? Are you reliable, responsible, and self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines? If so, we are looking for a Temporary Revenues Officer to join our team on a remote basis.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participate in the processing of billing, collection, and recovery of Non-Domestic Rates (Business Rates) debts.
- Handle customer inquiries and correspondence efficiently and accountably while adhering to relevant legislative provisions, council policy, and financial regulations.
- Operate a systematic billing and recovery procedure within Revenues to ensure efficiency and accountability.
- Maintain accurate records and process information within set timescales and procedures.
- Make decisions in accordance with Non-Domestic Rates legislation regarding liability, discounts, and reductions.
- Maintain an in-depth working knowledge of relevant legislative provisions.
- Actively recover Non-Domestic Rates Arrears through various communication channels.
- Monitor payment arrangements and take prompt recovery action in line with relevant legislation.
- Liaise with other Council staff, the Department of Work and Pensions, and other stakeholders to provide an efficient and effective revenues and benefit service.

**Person Specification**:

- Proficiency in using NORTHGATE and CIVICA systems is a must.
- Sound understanding of Business Rates and relevant legislation.
- Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work to clearly defined targets and deadlines.
- Awareness and understanding of customer needs.
- Practical experience in an appropriate work environment and the ability to advise others on relevant issues.
- Safe and competent use of relevant equipment/tools.
- Clear communication skills with sensitivity and empathy to build trust.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience is weighted heavily over qualifications however, applicants should have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSE passes Grade A-C, including Mathematics and English or equivalent.
- NVQ level 2 in Business Administration or IRRV NVQ3 Level 3.

**Note**: Please clearly state your desired hourly rate for PAYE on your CV if it differs from the advertised rate. While we cannot guarantee a change in the budget, we will consider it if your skills are exceptional.
