**Job Title**: Head of Risk and Compliance

**Location**: Hybrid - Milton Keynes with national travel

**Salary**: £60,000

**Hours**: Full Time permanent

**Summary Aim**:
The Head of Risk and Compliance is a crucial leadership role, your role is to oversee and manage the organization's risk management and compliance activities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the company's operations are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.

One of the key aspects of your role will be managing the care compliance system. This involves establishing and maintaining a framework that aligns with industry regulations and internal policies, ensuring the organisation operates ethically and within legal boundaries. You will be responsible for conducting regular risk assessments, monitoring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and addressing any potential issues or breaches.

Additionally, you will work closely with various departments and stakeholders to promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout the organization. This includes providing training sessions, creating awareness campaigns, and fostering a proactive approach towards risk identification and mitigation.

As the Head of Risk and Compliance, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's reputation, protecting its assets, and ensuring its long-term sustainability by effectively managing risk and maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

**Requirements**:
You will have an understanding of autism and related challenges, with a demonstrated commitment to providing person-centred care. This knowledge and understand will expend to the relevant regulations, laws, and standards governing social care organizations.

You will need to have proven experience in risk management and governance within the social care sector, preferably in organisations supporting people with complex autism. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field for example social work, healthcare management, or risk management is essential.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Risk Management: Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies, including risk assessment and mitigation plans, to safeguard the well-being of our clients and staff members.
- Governance Oversight: Lead the design and maintenance of robust governance systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards in the social care sector.
- Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and update policies and procedures that promote a safe and inclusive environment for people with complex autism, aligning with best practices and legal requirements.
- Compliance Monitoring: Monitor and assess compliance with all relevant regulatory frameworks, reporting and escalating issues as necessary to maintain the organization's compliance status.
- Incident Management: Oversee the effective handling of incidents and accidents, conducting thorough investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing preventive measures.
- Training and Education: Provide guidance and training to staff members, fostering a risk-aware culture and empowering them to make informed decisions in their day-to-day activities.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse risk-related data to identify trends and patterns, producing regular reports for senior management and the board to inform decision-making.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously review and improve risk and governance processes to enhance the organization's ability to support people with complex autism effectively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the senior management team, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure transparent and effective communication and collaboration.
- Care Compliance: Manage the implementation and roll out of Care Compliance through Precious, develop protocols and standard operating procedures to create consistency and one version of the truth.
