REED Accountancy Reading are working with an East Reading based client with their search for a Permanent Accounts Assistant to join their growing team.
You will be working alongside and reporting into the Head of Finance and be an integral part of the team joining a vibrant office and fast paced environment. This role will encompass not just accounts, but also be a supporting function for some administrationtasks too.

Duties for this role will include,

- To take full responsibility for the company’s purchase ledger function.
- To administer and manage all aspects of all unit bookwork processing through both the sites software system and Sage and uplift/import or manually process as appropriate.
- Administer all unit bookwork aspects of the sites software system and perform Gatekeeper tasks as necessary.
- To ensure that all bookwork is processed in such a manner ensuring the company is compliant in its legal obligations especially with regard to the treatment of VAT.
- To carry out all duties relating to supplier remittances and payments.
- To carry out monthly statement reconciling including requesting copies of overdue invoices/credit notes and resolving any queries.
- To respond professionally and efficiently and effectively to all supplier enquiries.
- To prepare Supplier payments ensuring they comply with the terms of each Supplier’s agreement using either BACS or manual cheques as required.
- To be responsible for ensuring all unit finance procedures and policies are complied with.
- To inform Manager - Compliance & Business Support of any necessary training of Unit Managers and new and developing management team players who have or will have a responsibility for administering unit bookwork.
- To monitor non-conformances in relation to unit bookwork documentation received and provide statistical management data including implementing remedial actions and processes where appropriate.

Due to the location of the office, you will need to be a driver with access to a vehicle.
