**Senior National Account Manager - Business Development 3PL Sector

Territory: National Coverage (UK) - based either Midlands or Milton Keynes**
**Sector: 3PL (third party logistics & fulfilment) - UK wide**
**Package: Basic salary up to £65,000 (dependent on experience)**

Macfarlane Packaging is the UK’s largest packaging distributor of transit packaging solutions. Operating from over 30 sites across Europe we provide a local service for major and multi-sited customers.

Providing an expansiverange of stock and bespoke packaging from a wide range of manufacturers allows us to deliver impartial advice and supply at all levels of our customer’s business.
**The National Account Manager (Business Development) Role**
This is an exciting opportunity to join a very successful team supplying into major UK third-party logistics/fulfilment customers. Join us and you will use your experience to win and develop significant new customers (typically with annual spend circa £500k+).
**The National Account Manager (Business Development) Key Duties**:
- Lead the Company's efforts UK wide to maintain and expand senior levels relationships within the Third-Party Logistics / fulfilment sector.
- Become Tier 1, sole or preferred supplier of choice to targeted 3PL businesses.
- Target Major end user clients directly to become Tier 1, sole or preferred supplier of choice either invoiced directly or through a 3PL provider.
- Exceed Sales and Gross Profit targets assigned to new and existing 3PL accounts and end user clients.
- Develop existing business with new product categories currently not assigned to preferred supplier status within 3PL businesses.
- Implement a variety of new business initiatives to drive sales and profit to ensure new business targets are exceeded.
- Work in a constructive manner and to promote co-operation, communication and teamwork between the National Accounts team and all Macfarlane sites to maximize sales and profit opportunities within 3PL businesses.
- Responsible for the overall management of all 3PL strategic customer relationship activities.
- Create and implement a business plan for the 3PL customer base and market potential in conjunction with the company’s strategy.
- Encourage implementation of excellent customer service standards.
- Hold strong internal relationships with internal site managers and encourage implementation of excellent internal communication regarding 3PL national accounts.
- Maximize both sales and profit responsibly by being aware of the profit implications of how we service the customer logístically.
