**Occupational Therapy Assistant**

This exciting opportunity has arisen for two additional Occupational Therapy Assistants to work in our Occupational Therapy Housing Adaptations Team in Southampton. The Occupational Therapy service provides both assessment and recommendations for adults with multiple and complex disabilities requiring major adaptations via both the disabled facilities grant and our council housing revenue account. The team also provide some equipment and minor works where required.

The service sits within the newly formed Wellbeing and Housing Directorate and the team work collaboratively with housing, adult social services, health partners, private sector housing team and council adaptations team, as well as being part of the wider network of Occupational Therapists across the City Council, delivering outcomes that support independence and wellbeing for residents of the city.

We are busy embedding strength-based approaches into everyday practice and with an eye on innovation, we foster a creative culture that encourages new ideas from our staff and from our residents. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to make a real contribution to Southampton City Council and to support the achievement of the council outcomes for the city.

Some experience of working within adult services, equipment provision and adaptations would be helpful, but training will be provided. You will receive ongoing supervision from qualified Occupational Therapists within the team and have the opportunity for further training and continuing professional development.
