Job summary

We have a rare sought-after opportunity to join the Childrens Therapy team as a part time Therapy Assistant working alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists to develop your skills in these areas. You will have the rewarding and fun experience of working with children from 0-19 in clinics, schools and homes.

We are a large, friendly dynamic team working across South West Hampshire and this role would predominantly cover the New Forest area. The role includes work alongside therapists to support groups and programmes, deliver direct therapy, liaise with parents and schools to get updates, and also support therapists to order equipment for children using specific ordering platforms. The role is a mix of clinical and non-clinical administrative duties.

We would welcome interest from individuals with experience with Children, and particularly those with additional needs, in education, health or care settings.

Main duties of the job

Solent Integrated Childrens Therapy service is for children aged 0-19 who experience challenges with Physical disability, daily functional activities, eating and drinking skills, speech, language and communication.

This is a community service delivered in homes, pre-school settings, mainstream schools, special schools, and community clinics.

Physiotherapists, podiatry, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists work together with children and their families as part of multi-agency teams with Health Care professionals across acute and community services, Education, social care colleagues and Equipment providers, to enable children achieve their therapy goals.

About us

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. The new organisation will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different new Trust will be comprised of all the services currently provided by Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, the community, mental health and learning disability services provided by Isle of Wight NHS Trust and child and adolescent mental health services delivered in parts of Hampshire by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.Colleagues will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) -- known as TUPE on 1st July 2024. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.
