**FINANCE MANAGER**

**Remuneration**:
Circa £35,000 commensurate to experience and qualifications

**Hours**:
This is a full-time position however flexible working options (such as part time/term time only) could be considered and discussed at interview.

40 hours per week

**Pre-Note**:
Development Plan.

This role forms a part of the Administration Team for Rishworth School therefore general administration and HR tasks may form part of the daily routine. Teamwork and an ethos of comradery is essential.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The following list is not exhaustive and assumes that from time-to-time other tasks not listed, may be required to ensure the efficient operation of the School:

- To lead and manage the Accounts Department which consists of an intimate team incorporating a Fees Ledger Clerk, Purchase Ledger Clerk, and Accounts & Payroll Clerk.
- To deputise for the Bursar (when requested) on financial matters
- Maintain a robust financial control environment
- To manage and oversee the month-end reporting process, to include; trial balance, nominal reconciliations, oversight of budget monitoring at department level, reconciliation of control accounts and production of monthly reports such as aged debtors and creditors.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts
- Record capital expenditure and asset information, maintain the fixed asset register
- Oversight and monitoring of additional revenue streams such as lettings, Early Years Funding,

- To set up and maintain a direct debit functionality for fee billing
- Assisting the Bursar with production of analysis reports, management accounts, 5-year cash flow forecasting, budget monitoring and budget production
- Year-end procedures
- Assisting in the preparation of the statutory accounts for Rishworth School and Rishworth

Trading.
- To assist the Bursar and Director of External Relations with Bursary and Scholarship reviews
- To maintain a high level of professional development to ensure legal compliance
- The duties may be varied to meet the changing demands of the School at the reasonable direction of the Bursar. Any significant changes will wherever possible be made after consultation. _

**PERSON SPECIFICATIONS**

**Essential Skills/Experience Highly Desirable**

Qualified Accountant ACCA or CIMA qualified. Understanding and or experience of working within the Independent School sector/market.

Understanding of the accounting processes and reporting requirements of a registered Charity through the Charity Commission

Knowledge of accounting Knowledge of Independent School financial and programmes/systems/databases. Management Information Systems (MIS) software packages - the School currently use iSAMS

Highly competent user of ICT - in particular Knowledge of Microsoft 365
Excel spreadsheets to an advanced level.

Ability to produce detailed and accurate The ability to relay financial information to key financial reports (management accounts, personnel highlighting trends, key issues, KPIs budgets, cash flow forecasts etc). etc.
