Passionate about people, you'll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life too, as you make the role your own as part of a friendly and multidisciplinary team.

You will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey and clearly defined career pathways that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.

Whether you are looking to progress into a management and leadership role or to be a specialist in your field as an Advanced Substance Use Practitioner at Turning point we will support and encourage you on your career journey.

**Role Responsibility**:
To provide high quality support and interventions to the highest risk families as part of the Family Safeguarding Team. This includes working with adults and young people with a history of substance use to achieve their goals and improve outcomes for the whole family.

The Safeguarding Family Recovery Worker is responsible for providing the full range of services across an operational site in Somersetas well as the outreach provision in the locality area.

The Safeguarding Family Recovery Worker will carry a case load and provide screening, comprehensive assessments, needle exchange, risk assessment and risk management, recovery planning & review, support access to medically assisted recovery (through titration and prescribing regimes), provide outreach services including home visits, deliver 1-1 key working sessions as well as semi and structured groups to support families through engagement, detoxification, stabilisation and rehabilitation.

Thepost will be required to contribute to the overall aims and objectives of the Family Safeguarding Team by compiling data and progress reports as directed and in line with the Family Safeguarding Workbook.

The focus of all interventions will be:

- To reduce substance related harm to the individual and their children
- To reduce the negative impact on children and families of parental substance use and associated lifestyle factors
- To promote healthier life styles and increase family choice
- To promote and support parents/carers into both abstinence based and medically assisted forms of recovery
- To provide effective case management and coordination of the individual’s treatment plan in support of the children’s CP or CIN Plan.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly across operational sites as required and within an agreed number of hours to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision.

Having handled a significant caseload in a busy environment as a Recovery Worker or similar, you'll have a deep understanding of substance use and the Recovery Agenda. It's an extremely varied role, so flexibility, a track record of DANOS compliance and knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital. Naturally, we also look for Recovery Workers with excellent communication skills and, ideally, a vocational qualification, such as an NVQ 3 or equivalent.

Excellent IT skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook etc. are essential for this role. (Tested at interview)
