**Job overview**

We are looking for a school cook who is keen to support children and young people who have experienced difficulty in learning in mainstream schools. Could you help our students develop the confidence, resilience, skills and knowledge that will allow them to fulfil their ambitions and be successful in their own lives?

Uneek Learning, based in Hinckley, Leicestershire support young people who have been placed at the Alternative Education Setting for a period of intervention work following a permanent exclusion from a mainstream school.

Role description:

- To plan menus, organise and deliver the meals to the students throughout the day. Approx 10-15 lunches per day. This will include cooking their lunches and serving them during lunch times.
- To support children and young people who have experienced difficulties in learning in mainstream school. To help them develop their confidence, skills and knowledge to believe that they can be successful in their own lives.
- To support 1:1 basic cooking lessons with students who show an interest in catering.
- Forge positive and mutually respectful relationships with colleagues and students.
- Contribute to the development of positive and safe learning environments.
- Understand and implement UL's safeguarding policy and procedures, and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of current safeguarding and health and safety practice when working with vulnerable young people.
- Have a good working knowledge of barriers to learning many of our students face, such as SEND or SEMH needs.

**Job Types**: Temporary contract, Temp to perm
Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: £12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
