Our Back Office function at RWE Supply & Trading is responsible for processing deals after they have been concluded by our Commodity Trading desks. This includes sending out deal confirmations, managing margin and collateral payments, controlling and balancing group accounts, sending out invoices and settling deals.

They are also responsible for providing comprehensive and quality checked control within the ‘Trade Lifecycle Process’ across Front Office, Back Office, Risk, Finance, Accounting and Legal, so close cooperation with these areas is key.

We have a diverse commodity portfolio including power, gas emission certificates, renewables, LNG, freight, weather and biomass. Without Back Office as the operational backbone of the trading business, nothing would work

**The role**

Do you have a keen interest in shipping? Have you gained some Freight Trading knowledge in your job or through qualifications? If so, this could be the opportunity for you

In your new role your key responsibilities will include:

- Checking the Freight trades captured in Endur and IMOS against the recap for Time Charter, Voyage Charter and Bunker trades.
- Using Jira workflow to manage the contract process from trade Recap to Working Copy.
- Settlement of Freight contracts according to contractual timeframes.
- Managing new, unique issues or challenges and structure and document these so that other team members can take over.
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

**Your profile**

Do you have a keen eye for detail and exceptional relationship management skills? Have you worked in a Finance / Procurement / Settlements or similar role, within a fast paced environment? Or are you a Graduate with relevant qualifications in Shipping/Freight?

Key requirements include:

- Exceptional communication skills as there is daily contact with the Traders, Operators, Finance, as well as Back Office teams in Singapore and Swindon.
- Excellent administration, coordination and analytical skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships but also work independently.
- Extremely well organised and able to work to tight timeframes and under pressure.
- Ability to prioritise your daily tasks to meet operational deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Commercially aware, flexible, confident and assertive.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, changing, corporate environment.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Advantageous, but not essential:

- Basic knowledge of IT software such as ENDUR and SAP.
- A good understanding of Freight Trading and the deal lifecycle.
- Relevant work experience in the Freight / Shipping business.

In this team you will gain a thorough understanding of the end-to-end Freight trading lifecycle in an energy trading house from trade execution to settlement.
