**Responsible for**: Building a Resilient Voluntary Sector Community in the North of
Walsall
**Liaison with**: Voluntary sector partners/groups within the North of Walsall, local people, Volunteers, Resilient Communities Leads in East West and
South, Walsall Council Resilient Communities Team, BCP senior management team, charity trustees and other outside agencies.
**Purpose of job**: To be responsible for the development, delivery and monitoring of the
Resilient Communities Locality Lead project. To work with established, new and emerging voluntary sector groups within the
North of Walsall with an annual turnover below £100,000. To provide support, information and mentoring to enable small voluntary sector groups to become resilient.
**Main Duties**: Normal duties shall be determined by the CEO and Trustees of the
Charity and shall include;
1. To map voluntary sector provision in the North of the Borough of Walsall.
2. To build links and nurture relationships within and between voluntary sector partners.
3. To work in partnership with the Resilient Communities Leads in the East, West and
South of the Borough.
4. To hear, share and promote the voice of voluntary sector partners.
5. To set up and deliver monthly networking meetings for voluntary sector partners.
6. To set up and manage North Walsall voluntary sector social media platforms.
7. To plan and deliver quarterly sector newsletters.
8. To support groups to have a clear vision and sound management and monitoring systems including financial controls and transparent record keeping.
9. Identify gaps in knowledge and training needs within the sector.
10. To plan and evaluate training to meet the identified need.
11. Link with Walsall Council External funding team to maximise funding opportunities.
12. To promote Crowdfunding opportunities.
13. To showcase, support and promote volunteering within the North.
14. To build a portfolio of case studies and good news stories.

**_We are looking for a passionate individual with experience working within the Voluntary _**
**_Sector_**
The person appointed to this post will need to demonstrate the following criteria;
**Essential**
- A working knowledge of the voluntary sector.
- An understanding of how the voluntary sector operate.
- Experience of securing grant funding and/or fundraising.
- Knowledge and understanding of the local community.
- An ability to engage with local people.
- To have a friendly and approachable manor.
- Competent in using IT systems and the internet.
- An ability to keep accurate records and write reports.
- Excellent communication skills.
- To work as part of a team.
- To have a flexible approach to working hours and be available daytime, evenings and weekends.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
**Desirable**
- A working knowledge of the voluntary sector in North Walsall.
- Relevant qualifications - community development/project delivery
- A proven track record of project management and monitoring.
