The University will pay a supplement per annum pro rata to spine point 10 with effect from 24 October 2023, to align with the Real Living Wage (RLW) which equates to £22,464 p.a. This RLW supplement will be reviewed annually to take account of future increases and RLW rates.

There is an expectation that work will be undertaken in the UK.

This role is not eligible for sponsorship. Applicants require to have existing right to work in the UK.

**The Post**
As part of the wider Directorate for Internationalisation and Partnerships, the post holders will make a substantial contribution to the development and delivery of DIP’s summer programmes. Most of the role will be dedicated to the International Summer School (ISS), which is the University’s flagship summer activity, but there will also be opportunities to work on the delivery of other short-term bespoke summer programmes for strategic University partnerships.

The post holders will contribute to all aspects of the summer programmes, including planning and taking part in social events and excursions, supporting the whole student experience, liaising with academic contacts, and carrying out other administrative tasks for the wider team. The interns will work closely with and report to the International Mobility Officers on a day-to-day basis.

The hours of work are on average 36 hours per week, with some of these hours taking place during evenings and weekends, dependant on scheduled events.

**Description of Duties**
**_
Event Management_**

Under the supervision of International Mobility Officers:

- Manage daily priorities and activities to support overall Mobility Team workflow
- Organise the contacting and booking of vendors
- Organise materials for the delivery of events (such as: electronic and printed flyers, invites and attendance lists, etc)
- Accompany students on academic module excursions, day trips and evening events
- Assist with preparation for orientation weekends and contribute to the delivery of orientation; including airport pick ups
- Work unsociable hours to ensure a positive student experience
- Design and maintain electronic and printed flyers for day trips
- Compile comprehensive itineraries for staff and students
- Plan and deliver a varied schedule of intern-led activities on and off campus, such as sport sessions, movie nights, and mixer events

**_General Administration_**

Under the supervision of International Mobility Officers:

- Design and co-ordinate feedback on the summer programmes and compile feedback to inform future planning
- Develop content for and maintain the Programme’s social media presence to raise awareness and support engagement (particularly via Instagram)
- Create short informational videos for students
- Compile, manipulate and manage spreadsheets; relating to budgets, student information, student feedback and project management
- Complete other projects as assigned by the ISS team and the Head of International Mobility

**_Communication_**

Under the supervision of International Mobility Officers:

- Relay any issues or concerns raised by students or tutors to the International Mobility Officer
- Handle confidential information with sensitivity, adhering to University processes
- Provide excellent customer service
- Be a leader within large groups
- Maintain a consistent professional attitude throughout the post

**Essential Criteria**
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a diverse range of students, academic and professional service colleagues, and external stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise independently when faced with many competing demands; in a fast-paced working environment
- Can work in a team effectively
- IT literate with particular competence utilising MS Teams and MS Office
- Passion for, knowledge of and demonstrable interest in Scotland
- Willingness to work flexible and unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends

**Desirable Criteria**
- Skills and experience in events organisation and delivery
- Experience having lived, worked or studied abroad
- Experience having lived in and travelled around Scotland for work or pleasure, and in particular knowledge of Stirling
- Experience in creating content for social media
- Knowledge of the higher education environment and in particular study abroad
