The post holder will be responsible for providing leadership, professional accountability and management of an agreed portfolio of therapy, nutrition and dietetic and mobility services across adults and children’s teams based in hospital and community settings.

This role will work closely with the Chief Allied Health Professional who is accountable for the 6 different Allied Health Professions employed by Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and is a key partner in Place based and Integrated Care System leadership.

Each Allied Health Profession has embedded Professional Leadership which supports the integrated therapy management structure whilst providing strong Professional identity and representation.

This post will report to the Chief Allied Health Professional will be responsible for the safe and effective operationally leadership of the Therapies directorate. The structure has strong effective leadership with 6 Therapy Service manager who are allocated to each area.

The portfolio of services in the Therapy directorate is diverse and includes:

- MSK (including Rheumatology and Hand Therapy)and Pelvic health
- Dietetics and Healthcare Psychology
- Adult Speech and Language Therapy, Stroke pathway, Specialist rehabilitation
- Acute Therapy service
- Children’s Therapy service and Community Children’s Speech and Language Therapy
- Community Rehabilitation Teams and Mobility services (including Orthotics and wheelchairs)
- Administration teams

**The main duties include**:

- Being responsible for the planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the provision of the portfolio of services.
- Being accountable for the quality and safety of the service
- Having a key role in promoting the integration of services and development of right care and new models of care, working in partnership with health, local authority and voluntary sector colleagues.
- Recruiting staff and managing teams with the appropriate skills and experience to deliver high quality care
- Ensuring that all staff have personal development reviews and that their development needs are identified and addressed
- Being responsible for workforce planning and development including development of new roles to support the delivery of integrated care
- Representing therapy and rehabilitation services at a range of internal and external forums, deputising for the Chief AHP as required
- Manage delegated budgets, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources and identifying opportunities for cost savings
- Participate in the trust senior manager on-call rota

Airedale Foundation Trust is an integrated Acute and Community Trust that is based in Keighley, West Yorkshire. We are situated on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and only 10 miles from the multicultural city of Bradford. Both acute and community physical health services are provided, and the Trust has a history of working collaboratively with partner organisations providing service across urban and rural areas serving to a diverse population.

**Principle Duties and Responsibilities**:
Leadership and Managerial

Performance
- The achievement and improvement of therapy service performance in relation to statutory performance indicators, Care Quality Commission standards, Trust targets and other agreed
- To collaborate with Therapy operational managers to ensure processes are in place to optimise the operational, financial and utilisation of the workforce.
- Collect, monitor, and evaluate data and statistics pertaining to operational, financial and workforce performance across the Therapies Directorate.

Strategic/planning
- To work in partnership with Divisional board, therapy operational managers and other key stakeholders in operationalising Trust, ICS and national strategies in line with agreed divisional priorities for the Therapies Directorate as a whole, balancing the competing aspects of operational performance, quality and safety, workforce, and financial sustainability.

Leadership
- Understand, promote, and advocate for equality and diversity and demonstrate inclusion through interaction with individuals.
- To ensure that members of the Therapies Directorate work effectively across the Trust and with partner organisations in primary care, secondary care, mental health, local authorities, education,
