**Job Purpose**:
The Labour Controller plays a vital role in our Division, working closely with the Technical Team and Administrators. This dual-focused role ensures the highest levels of customer service and the optimal use of engineering resources by efficiently scheduling work for a team of UK-based Engineers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Work Planning**: Coordinate all works nationally for a designated service (Electrical Installation Testing or Portable Appliance Testing) on a rolling weekly basis, liaising with both clients and Engineers.
- **Field Support**: Ensure Engineers have the necessary H&S training, job information, equipment, and stationery, acting as a point of contact for them with customers and internal departments.
- **Travel Arrangements**: Arrange travel and hotel accommodations for Engineers working away from home, manage purchase orders, and ensure expenditure aligns with the budget and company expenses policy.
- **Work Tracking**: Monitor work completion and the return of worksheets from Engineers, providing accurate invoicing information to the Accounts Team.
- **Reporting**: Generate and provide various management reports (KPIs, invoicing, weekly and monthly business updates).
- **Ad Hoc Tasks**: Assist the management team with tasks that help maintain service and the division’s commercial and financial commitments.
- **National Planning**: Use sales information, retained customer data, and knowledge of customers, Engineers, and geography to plan work nationally.
- **Customer Liaison**: Process invoicing and liaise with customers for work requests to ensure timely payments.

**Job Context / Key Challenges**:
The Labour Controller supports Operations Management by providing leadership to all Engineers, acting as the face of PTSG to clients to ensure they receive exemplary service. Key challenges include driving high levels of customer service and ensuring continuous operational delivery.

**Role Dimensions**:

- **Independent Contributor**: No direct reports but serves as the first point of contact for Engineers.
- **Key Communicator**: Performs many supervisory duties, essential for maintaining smooth operations.

**Person Profile**:

- **Experience**: Relevant experience as a Labour Controller, Planner, Scheduler, or Operations Manager. Industry experience is an advantage but not essential.
- **People Skills**: Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of building strong client relationships. Strong communicator, service-oriented, supportive, and helpful to colleagues.
- **Resilience and Flexibility**: Calm, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced service environment.
- **Problem Solving**: Forward planning and reactive problem-solving abilities.
