Senior Communications Coordinator

**Purpose of Job**
Raise the reputation and increase awareness of the University as a communications professional within the Corporate Communications and Marketing Team.
Plan and deliver engaging internal communications so that staff and students feel involved and informed about the University’s decisions, events and opportunities.
Advise internal stakeholders about the best communications to meet their objectives and coordinate requests by colleagues for communications materials across different University-owned channels.
**Key Tasks / Responsibilities**
This role has four key responsibilities;
- To advise colleagues from across the university about the best way to communicate their information and coordinate their requirements so that work is prioritised, planned and produced to agreed deadlines by the corporate communications team
- To be responsible for planning, producing and delivering internal communications and internal communications campaigns.
- To write, edit and proofread key corporate publications (on and offline), these range from the prospectus and other student recruitment materials and to graduation and research booklets.
- To line manage the web content coordinator and multimedia officer and ensure that content meets CMA guidelines and is of a high standard.
**Work Performed (relating to key tasks)**
- Produce and update the internal communications plan so that it is aligned to overarching university objectives and the Corporate Communications and Marketing Strategy.
- Coordinate requests from colleagues so that work is prioritised appropriately and delivered to agreed timelines.
- Advise academic and professional services colleagues on the appropriate channels to share information and promote the work of their teams, departments and faculties.
- Work with the graphic design team to produce print and online materials that are engaging for the intended audiences and on brand.
- Collate information and write engaging copy for external publications, including the university prospectus.
- Work with the senior journalist to ensure that external good news stories are shared with staff.
- Take the lead on gathering and sharing internal news stories for both staff and students, this involves producing weekly bulletins targeted at each group.
- Work with colleagues in the communications and marketing team to coordinate internal communication campaigns across print, digital and social media.
- Oversee the process of publishing course information to ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date and adheres to CMA guidelines.
- Support the development of the university’s website and intranet

**Salary**: £31,396.00-£36,024.00 per year
