The Blue Coat School is seeking to recruit a qualified Marketing and Admissions Assistant, who is willing to build upon their existing experience to support the work of the Director of Marketing and Admissions, from May/June 2023.

The post includes membership of a Pension Scheme with a high employer contribution. Discounts are available to assist with fees at Blue Coat for any member of staff’s children admitted to the school. Accommodation may be available. **This permanent, full-time post is available from Mid May 2023.**

Extra paid hours are available in afterschool care.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Marketing**
- Lead on the delivery of the School’s social media strategy which is: to utilise The Blue Coat School’s social media channels to capture the journey of limitless learning through quality content which purposefully engages the audience.
- Take photographs and videos which promote school life which are suitable for use on social media, print and the school website.
- Support colleagues across the School with creating printed and digital marketing materials for all school events such as sports fixtures, school productions, music events and School Enrichment Days.
- Update The Blue Coat School website including updating the general information on all pages; helping to optimise the site; and adding news reports, sports results and calendar information.
- Conduct market research, both qualitative and quantitative to gather insights on demand, competitive opportunities and brand awareness.
- Write and edit news stories for the school’s website news section.
- Create and manage content on the School’s digital and printed noticeboards.

**Admissions**
- Support with the planning, organising and delivery of open events.
- Support with the planning, organising and delivery of admissions events such as the 7+ examination.
- Support with admissions administration tasks.

**Other Responsibilities**
- Assist with any reasonable request in connection with the day-to-day organisation of the School.
- Attend assemblies and Chapel Services as required.
- Be available to attend school events as required.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Qualifications/Professional Development**
- Degree level education or equivalent work experience
- Evidence of recent involvement in professional development

**Skills and experience**:

- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop high quality, accurate and consistent communications and marketing materials
- A good understanding of communications, building audiences and engagement via social media
- Experience using Wordpress would be an advantage
- Photographic skills and knowledge of video and photo editing
- Graphic design skills and experience using digital media creation software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (or similar) would be an advantage
- An excellent telephone manner
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage tasks
- An eye for detail and accuracy
- A solid understanding of the General Data Protection Regulations to safely manage personal information
- An understanding of the admissions process of a school
